About A Witch Awakens

When Cece Chagall moves back to her sleepy East Tennessee hometown, she’s hoping for a fresh start—teaching dance at her grandmother’s studio, reconnecting with old friends, and maybe even figuring out what’s next for her life. But when a shocking crime rocks the small mountain town of Eureka Grove, Cece is pulled into a tangled web of secrets, deception, and long-buried histories.

As eerie coincidences and strange sensations begin to follow her, Cece realizes there’s more to the story—and to herself—than she ever imagined. With the help of her sharp-witted Aunt Granny Hazel, her no-nonsense Nana, and the powerful women of Hazel’s fire circle, Cece embarks on a journey to uncover the truth. Along the way, she just might awaken something within herself that’s been waiting for the right moment to rise.

Blending Southern charm, mystery, and just a touch of the supernatural, A Witch Awakens is a spellbinding small-town whodunit with an edge of magic. Perfect for fans of cozy mysteries with a little witchy wisdom, this first book in the Fire Circle Mystery series will keep you guessing—and leave you wanting more.

Meet the Modern-Day Granny Women

In Appalachian history, a “Granny Woman” was a combination mid-wife, healer, and preparer of the dead for burial. This lineage is featured in my book, A Witch Awakens: A Fire Circle Mystery. These women were a necessary part of the isolated communities in the mountains, and were knowledgeable, independent, and resilient.

We all know women today who are like this. She need not be a “granny” at all, but made a difference in the most important way of all; in the life of another human being.

These interviews introduce you to our Modern Day Granny Women.
